Hollywood for me is where things get stolen. In my case, my iPhone 5. Waited until I graduated college to join the smart phone world only to have it taken away a month later. That hurt a little. Heart and bank. Enough about that though.
I feel incredibly lucky, blessed, and humbled to have the opportunity to live and work in southern California after a long (not that long) life of enduring blistering cold winters in Michigan. There are moments in life where you can finally say, “I did it. I reached my goal.” This is one of them.
See the great thing about California is that there is an abundance of adventurous things to do. I’ve only been here for about a month now and already I have cliff jumped in Malibu, hiked up mountains, witnessed the best surfers from around the globe ride waves at the US surf open in Huntington Beach, soaked in the views on the hippest rooftop bar and pool in downtown LA, and experienced the nightlife of Santa Monica, Hermosa Beach, and the glamorous Hollywood.
I was lucky enough to find a roommate who I graduated with from Michigan State University. We are both working together and have learned the struggles of moving to a new place and being truly independent. Bottom line: Never go to the DMV and if you have to, get ready for a world of pain, misery, and tears. Since being out here I have had the opportunity to meet all the co-ops working with Neutragena in LA, and run into a few celebrities!
This is just the beginning of a new chapter of my life, and as with any other chapter I look forward to loving, living, laughing, learning and so on.
